| Gratitude is a "tool" that has been given to us to help maintain balance in our lives. Each one of us has our trials and tribulations we face throughout our lives. And some challenges are far more difficult to get through than others of course; and regardless of our efforts...there will always be more to come. That is just a fact of life. There is no graduation period of...no more challenges in life, lessons, etc.
Sometimes our challenges can have us wrapped up in thought, possibly even to worry about things that we can't change this very minute. And truly, our attitude reflects how we handle our challenges, and get past them. It reflects our ability to keep putting on foot in front of the other, regardless of how large or difficult it may appear. And not only do we need strength to get through it, but getting through it will strengthen us even more.
Quite simply, if we focus our attention of that which "we know for a fact" we can be grateful for, suddenly we find that our life is full of love, joy, peace, and happiness. That everything that we strive for in life.....we already have. Sure there may be things that we would like to change or add to our life; goals to pursue, prosperity, illness, reconciliations, etc. And certainly, we can strive for those things. But what we do have is "right now", and "right now" is completely as it should be. And through gratitude, we are promised that peace of mind that we are living gloriously in the moment, and have blessings of many kind that also give us the strength to carry on. | |
